Frenzy by Casey L. Bond WITH Reviews

Title: Frenzy
Author: Casey L Bond
Genre: YA Paranormal
Cover Designer: Cover Me Darling
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb: After the world was ravaged by a viral apocalypse, Blackwater is one of the only colonies that remains. The survivors came together to create this safe haven. Nestled between a fierce river and a city’s flood wall, the well-being of its residents hangs on a long-established treaty with the night-walkers. Sounds simple enough, but lately, the people of Blackwater have been dying, and the humans believe the night-walkers are to blame. Porschia Grant starves for more than her parents’ affection. Forced to enter the rotation, she will be given extra food rations in exchange for becoming a vampire’s breakfast and dinner for a week. The rotation has an extra responsibility as well: leave the colony and enter the dangerous forest to hunt for food. A night-walker will protect the hunters from the infected that roam the woods. But with the treaty hanging in the balance and tension between the humans and vampires rising, anything could happen in the darkness. What would you do if your only chance at survival might kill you?

**Spoiler alert

"Infected" which appeared to me to be zombies, vampires and humans. All trying to scratch out a life after a virus spread through the city.  A city of one million reduced to 100 humans, five vampires and unknown numbers of infected.  This book seemed to start out kind of slow, but the action picked up to a steady pace.

I could feel the despair, hopelessness of the humans.  I could feel the discouragement of the people trying to eek out enough fruit and vegetables to eat during harvest and enough to put back for the winter.  Everyone was starving.  The rations weren't enough.  To cross the river to hunt was dangerous due to the infected that lived there.  Trying to scavenge in the city for anything useful was dangerous as well.

The situation seemed too real.  Too much agony and desperation.  Too many friends and family dying.  How can they live in the conditions they have been reverted to?  I could feel the overwhelming struggles.  But within it all, there are rays of hope.  Chances for love.  Can these feelings bloom before they are squashed?

I really like books from this author so I was happy to get to read this one.  Casey has done it again!  A book that draws you in and keeps you there.

Beware! The book ends in a cliff hanger.  Casey, where's the next one??

CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS

This was a very good book.  I read it in one day; couldn't put it down.  The characters were well developed.  I felt for the main character and what she was going through.  You could literally feel the despair as the town tries to survive from day to day.  The world and characters were so easy to imagine.  I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Porshia is a girl in a town that is struggling to survive.  A virus has infected everyone outside of the town.  Those in town are fighting to not get the virus.  A treaty with vampires is helping to keep them safe.  It isn't safe to go in the woods outside of town to hunt for food, let alone go into the city and scavenge for supplies.  The town takes turns volunteering in groups of five to do rotations.  Rotations are where citizens go out into the woods to hunt under the protection of the night walkers.  In exchange, those in rotations feed the night walkers.  What little meat they are able to hunt is what they have to sustain themselves along with what little vegetation they are able to grow.  Everyone is starving and scared.  How do they survive?  How does one keep up hope and love in a world of survival?

I loved this book and can't wait for the next one.  This is not the first book of Casey Bond that I have read and it will definitely not be the last.  Casey is a wonderful author and you never know what to expect from her books.  She will pull you in and keep you on the edge of your seat each and every time.

OH where do I begin with this book? Every book I have read from Casey L. Bond has gotten better and better and better. Why is this book any different? Well because it had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. It has been a long time since a book has been able to do that. I had to read this book several time to make sure I got the whole picture because I read it too fast. This book put me into a state of FRENZY!!

Frenzy: a state or period of uncontrolled excitement or wild behavior. That is what you get when you mix a world of vampires, infected (zombies) and humans. You are going to have to read the book to find out what happens to the humans to get them in the FRENZY!

You sit down to read this book..be prepared for your FRENZY and make sure not to throw your kindle at the end. This book by Casey L. Bond will have you wondering who the good guy, bad guy is and who you are really supposed to be rooting for all along in the whole book. LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! Best work yet! My favorite read of 2016!!
